TransActPOS Multi-Store - automatically transfers information between store locations providing a comprehensive solution.  No remote applications such as LogMeIn or GoToMyPC are apart of the design of this product.  The software engineers at TransActPOS have developed the communcaitons elment of the application with ease of use and dependablility in mind.

Definitions and Characteristics:


Inventory:

Items can be categorized as either Enterprise or Local. 

  • The retail price of Enterprise items is controlled from a central location while the price of Local items is controlled by the individual store.

Approximately 50 elements are updated across multiple locations: Item Number, Retail Price, Multi-Unit Pricing, Sale Pricing, UPCs, Vendor Part Numbers, Item description, and other related elements.  Inventory changes can be made from any store and is regulated by the security of the user.  Features include the combining of Enterprise items.


Inventory Transfers:

Inventory transfers may be initiated by three different methods:

  • Store to Store Transfer involves the creation of a purchase order of selected items from a specific store.  TransActPOS transmits to the indicated store a request for goods - AKA a Sales Order.  Upon fulfilling the request the shipping store, processes the request to reduce inventory.  Simultaneously, the system transmits to the requesting to the shipping activity for review and confirmation.
  • Home Office Redistribution involves the creation of multiple purchase orders from the central office.  The resulting purchase orders are automatically transmitted to the fulfilling stores and then processed to complete the inventory cycle.
  • A One Way Transfer - You are at store 1 ready to leave for store 2 and realize - for what ever reason - that store 2 could use a dozen widgets.  The One Way Transfer allows you to enter an inventory transfer to a targeted store as a single step.  Once the transfer is created, the system automatically creates a receiving posting at the targeted store.  In this example, you have the dozen widgets in you hand and you know the items will get to the store shortly.  Why should the system require you to process the issue and transfer independently?  This type of transaction should be restricted to specific individuals which will be responsible for the making sure the product does get to the targeted location.

A complete audit trail of originating order, shipment and receipt is maintained within the system.  The appropriate documentation is included with the request and the shipment to aid the staff in quickly completing the assigned tasks of managing the orders.


Customers:

Customers can be categorized as either Enterprise or Local

  • Corporate Customers are distributed to all locations and managed centrally.  Corporate customer balances will be seen from any store in near-real time.
  • Local Customers are the responsibility of the local store's management.  

Corporate customers will receive a centralized summary statement produced from the Home Office while Local customers will receive a statement from their designated store.  Corporate customer may send their payment to either the home office or a store location and the staff will be able to provide them with a receipt.   Distribution of the payment will be completed by the  home office staff.


Service Tickets:

Supporting a localized technical staff allows service based departments to provide a higher level of expertise than many distributed models.  The integration of the Service Ticket module within the TransActPOS Multi-Store Edition allows to stores to effectively manage the multi-location service department.

  • Depot - a distant location in which minor repairs are completed.  Repairs requiring higher technical expertise are transfer physically to the Service Center.  The associated Service Ticket is transferred to the Service Center within the TransActPOS Multi-Store Edition.
  • Service Center - a central location with experience, inventory and equipment to support technical repairs of equipment.
